Gillian Lewis – Stage Manager
Gillian has been working professionally in theatre for over ten years. She has worked as a freelance stage manager and production manager, is a (long time) CAEA Apprentice and occasional Provisional member. Gillian has had the pleasure of working with companies of various sizes including: Alberta Theatre Projects, Cart Horse Theatre, Coleman Lemieux and Compagnie, Eldritch Theatre, Gailey Road Productions, inDANCE, The National Ballet of Canada and Theatre Passe Muraille. Gillian is a proud graduate of Ryerson Universities Theatre – Technical Production program. Currently she is under contract with Hart House Theatre at the University of Toronto in a position called the Education and Production Coordinator, focusing on volunteer student involvement on Hart House productions and educational outreach with the university and the community at large.
A.J. Morra – Stage Manager
Hailing from Toronto, A.J. Morra received her first taste of backstage life as a production assistant at Factory Theatre. She went on to receive her BFA in Theatre Technical Production at Ryerson University in 2006 and has since worked as Technical Director for the Red Barn Theatre (2004-2006) and for Toronto Dance Theatre at the Winchester Street Theatre (2012-2016). She has served as Production Stage Manager for Toronto circus cult favourite Lunacy Cabaret (2006-2010), as well as Dreamwalker Dance Company’s project The Whole Shebang in Toronto, Burlington, and St. Catharines (2015/16). A.J. is very excited to be Stage Managing once again with Dance Matters.
Jordana Deveau – Production Assistant
Jordana Deveau has been an active force in the Toronto dance community for over a decade as a performer, creator, producer and educator. A principal performer with CCDT since 1994, her passion and skill launched her into the roles of Rehearsal Director and then Associate Artistic Director, where she trained future generations of dance artists for 7 years. She is the Co-Artistic Director of JDdance, a multifaceted dance theatre collective that she co-founded in 2009. She is the co-author, with her mentor Donna Krasnow, PhD, of “C-I Training: Conditioning with Imagery for Dancers”.
Jordana has trained in Toronto, Guelph, Vancouver, New York and Vienna, and performed in the U.S., Europe and across Canada interpreting works by notable choreographers including Carol Anderson, Peggy Baker, Sidra Bell, David Earle, Kate Franklin, Margie Gillis, Andrea Nann, Holly Small, Santee Smith, and Gerry Trentham. Recent performance highlights include a remount of Carol Anderson’s acclaimed work Elsinore, originally created for Julia Sasso and, with Dancetheatre David Earle, the world premiere of In Paradisum and the remount of Earle’s choreographic masterpiece Sacra Conversazione.
